Veg Momos – how to make vegetable momos recipe stepwise

Veg Momos – Momos make a healthy snack, they make you crave for more. Momos are easy to cook and can be prepared using both veggies and minced meat. These are served with a spicy tomato-chilli chutney and can be served both steamed and fried .

Veg Momos


    For Filling:
  • Cabbage - 500 gm
  • Carrot- 3
  • Soya chunks- 250 gm
  • Onion- 2
  • Peas- 250 gm
  • Ching’s Paneer Masala
  • Salt
  • Soya Sauce- 1 tbsp
  • Vinegar- 1/2 tbsp
  • For Chutney:
  • Red Chilli- as per your taste
  • Garlic- 6-7 buds
  • Tomato- 5
  • Vegetable oil- 1 spoon
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • For Dough:
  • Maida- 1/2 kg
  • Oil- 3 tbsp
  • Salt- As per taste


    Method to mix Dough:
  1. Take maida, salt, oil and mix it
  2. Then add water part by part and knead the flour into a soft dough.
  3. Cover the dough and keep it for 30 minutes.
  4. Method to prepare filling:
  5. Chop all the veggies and soya chunks required for filling into small pieces.
  6. Heat oil in a pan and saute garlic for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Then add finely chopped onion and stir fry for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Add the chopped veggies and fry them for 7-8 minutes.
  9. Add salt, vinegar, soya sauce and Ching’s Paneer Masala and again fry for 4-5 minutes till the veggies turn golden and are perfectly cooked.
  10. Method for Wrapper:
  11. Prepare 8-10 balls from the dough for the wrapper of momo
  12. Roll each ball into 2-3 inch thin circles.
  13. Put 1-2 tbsp stuffing on the circle, stick a little water to the ends and bring one end of the circle to join the other end.
  14. Repeat this with all other circles.
  15. Put them into a steamer, but before that apply oil to the basket and steam the MOMOS for 12-15 minutes.
  16. Method for Chutney:
  17. Put all the ingredients for the chutney into a mixer and grind it to a fine paste.
  18. Now serve the momos hot with the tomato-chilli chutney.
