Sattu Ladoo

Sattu Ladoo is healthy energy balls made with roasted Bengal Gram Flour. Sattu is rich in protein and is widely used as a superfood.

  • 1 cup Sattu Flour
  • 1/2 cup Jaggery Powder or to taste
  • 4 tbsp Ghee
  • 1/4 tsp Cardamom Powder


  1. Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a kadai or pan.
  2. Add sattu flour to it and mix the flour with the ghee and roast sattu flour on a low flame.
  3. Stir in between while roasting.
  4. Roast sattu for about 2-3 minutes on a low flame. The sattu just needs to be lightly roasted.
  5. Remove in a separate bowl.
  6. Add jaggery powder and cardamom powder to it and mix everything well.
  7. Add 3 tbsp ghee to it and give it a nice mix.
  8. Now shape this mixture into ladoos while the mixture is still warm.
  9. If you are unable to form ladoos, then add some more ghee.
  10. Serve sattu laddu as a sweet snack.

Recipe Notes

These ladoos stay good at room temperature for a week.
If its too hot and humid, where you live, then do refrigerate these ladoos.
