15 Minutes Aval Nanachathu Recipe or sweet poha, is a tasty South Indian snack recipe made with simple ingredients like poha, coconut, and jaggery. I have given it a slight twist by seasoning and flavoring it with ghee, nuts, and cardamom powder.
Heat ghee in a kadai (pan). Add the cashew nuts and roast until they turn golden. Then, add the raisins and roast until they become plump. Take them out and set aside on a plate.
Add sesame seeds to the kadai and roast them lightly. Set aside. Save any extra ghee in the kadai, as you can add it while mixing the poha.
In a mixing bowl, add grated coconut, grated jaggery, and poha. Mix everything well.
If the poha mixture feels too dry, add a little coconut water to moisten it.
Add the roasted nuts, raisins, sesame seeds and cardamom powder to the poha mixture along with any leftover ghee. Mix everything thoroughly.
Serve immediately.
Aval Nanachattu can also be served with banana and milk for an added touch.
