Spiced Lololikka Achar Recipe
Spiced Lololikka Achar is a traditional Kerala style Coffee Plum Pickle made using brined Lololikka mixed with gingelly oil, mustard seeds, and aromatic spices.
This tangy and spicy Indian Plum Achar has a beautiful red color, a bold flavor, and that perfect Kerala touch.
It is simple to make, naturally flavorful, and pairs wonderfully with rice, dal, and everyday Indian meals.

Ingredients
- 250 gm Brined Lololikka Coffee Plum or Indian Plum
- 1 to 2 tbsp Gingelly oil sesame oil
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- Curry leaves A few
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Red chilli powder
- Asafoetida hing, A pinch
- 2 pinches Methi fenugreek powder
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Heat gingelly oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
- Add curry leaves and sauté for a few seconds until crisp and aromatic.
- Lower the flame and add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, hing, and methi powder.
- Mix well and turn off the flame immediately so the spices do not burn.
- Add brined Lololikka without water, to the spice mix and stir gently until all fruits are coated well with the masala.
- Let the pickle cool completely. Transfer it to a clean, dry glass jar or ceramic bharani.
- Then Store it in the refrigerator and enjoy it for up to six months.
