benefits of honey

Last week was a little tough for us as parents. Our little daughter fell ill and developed a cough. Usually the days when you little ones fall ill, are very tough on the parents. More than anything else, it is the misery that you see your kid in that hurts you the most. And if you are somebody like me, who wouldn’t want to put your kids through medicines for a common cold, then you need to be prepared for a few such tough days.

Kids are a little cranky when they are not well, especially if they are down with a common cold. With nose blocked, difficulty in breathing and a heavy head you could easily see them struggling to maintain their usual self. And to add to all this if they have a bad cough, then you can imagine what they would be going through.

My daughter acts tougher than what I would expect of a 5 year old. But she was still struggling. And I could see it clearly. After a certain point, I just couldn’t bear it.

I took to the internet and started searching for some home remedies for curing cough in children. I knew that over the counter medicines were not advisable for children below 6 years and hence wanted to try something natural that could work as a relief and also cure her of her cough.

There weren’t a lot of posts but of the few available, some of them spoke about honey.

I had read about a lot of the benefits about honey but never knew that honey can be a cure for cough as well. I had nothing to lose, so I decided I will give it a try.

After about 4 doses of 1 teaspoons each and a day, I was surprised to see that my little one’s cough was down by more than 75%.

Did you know about this benefits of honey?

I am sure there are so many other benefits of honey that you and I would probably not be aware of, unless you are somebody who is specialized in natural home remedies.

A mixture made of lemon juice and honey is an amazing antiseptic solution. the natural sugar in honey kills the microorganisms, while the lemon partners with it to prevent bacteria from taking over.
