Ingredients

  • 1 cup Kodo Millet varagu
  • 1/2 cup Peanut
  • 2 nos Cardamom
  • 1 cup Powdered Jaggery
  • 1/2 cup Ghee + 1 tsp to roast cashew
  • 10-15 nos Cashews broken and chopped

Instructions

  • Rinse the millet in cold water until the water runs clear to remove any dust or grit.
  • Transfer the kodo millet in the strainer, draining excess water.
  • Keep the strainer in a bowl and let it sit for some time so that the water drains completely.
  • Now roast the kodo millet in a dry pan on low flame for about 5 minutes, stirring often until it turns a shade darker and releases a mild, nutty aroma.
  • Now in the same pan add peanut and dry roast on low flame. Let it cool down.
  • Now add kodo millet, peanut and cardamom in a mixer grinder jar and grind to a fine powder.
  • Now add powdered jaggery.
  • Add some chopped cashew (roasted in ghee). Mix well.
  • Add ghee to it. Mix well so that everything is well combined.
  • Now start preparing laddu using your hand.
  • So the healthy and delicious kodo millet laddu is ready to serve.
