Sattu Sharbat is now becoming popular almost everywhere, especially in the hot and humid regions. The popularity can also be attributed to the superfood tag associated with sattu these days.
Sattu Sharbat is one of my favorite childhood drinks. My morning always starts with a glass of sattu ke sharbat which I take in an empty stomach.
Drinking a glass of sattu on an empty stomach in the morning is really good for health.
I remember my mother advising me to take a glass of sattu first thing in the morning, immediately after waking up as a remedy to gastritis and acidity problem that I was facing.
And in less than 2 weeks of doing it, I was able to get rid of it. Such is the benefit of sattu.

Basic Ingredients used to make Chana Sattu Sharbat:
Chana Sattu: Chana Sattu is the key Ingredient used for this recipe
Lemon Juice: It gives a lovely tang to this drink.
Spices: For the masala sattu drink I have used roasted cumin powder, chaat masala, black salt, pepper powder. You can make roasted cumin powder at home very easily by roasting little cumin on tawa, and gring it in jar. It’s that simple. These spices give a nice taste to it.
Cucumber: This is totally optional. Since cucumber also has cooling properties, so I have used some. If you get raw mango, you can some chopped raw mango to your sattu drink which gives a very nice tang to this drink. So cucumber and mango are optional.
Onion: Onion is again an optional ingredient. But it gives really a nice taste. So if you go towards Bihar you would get sattu drink with onion added to it.
Green Chilli: If you want you can skip green chilli.
Coriander Leaves: I have added coriander leaves, you can skip also. And if you want you can add some mint leaves to it.
