A hot summer morning, you are back from a sweating jogging session and if you are served with a cool musk melon Smoothie. How would you feel?
If it was me, I would feel out of the world.
The aromatic, refreshingly rich flavor of muskmelon along with curd is a combination like none other. The best part is that for the calorie conscious this is probably the best drink for summers.
Muskmelon is a rich source of polyphenol antioxidants. It is also an excellent source of Vitamin A, potassium, Vitamin B3 (niacin), Vitamin B6 and folate, Vitamin C and is also a very good source of dietary fiber. Now with all of that stuffed into it, I am sure you cannot deny the fact that this will have a hundred different health benefits.
Muskmelon can help control blood pressure, strengthens eyes, helps in weight loss, helps control diabetes and helps build immunity amongst many others.
So go ahead and make this a part of your daily diet and I can say that you will not regret that you did it.
Now let us get onto this simple recipe.
Ingredients
- Muskmelon/Cantaloupe - 3 cups chunks
- Low-fat plain yogurt - 2 cups
- Honey / Sugar - 2 to 3 tbsp
- Ice cubes - for serving
- Almond - few to garnish
Instructions
- In a blender, place muskmelon, yogurt, and honey or sugar. Blend on high speed until smooth.
- Garnish with almonds and serve over ice.

Believe it or not, I’ve never actually eaten a muskmelon. They aren’t super common here in our area….but I’ve always wondered what they taste like. I love the idea of using it in lassi. Sounds delicious, Puja!
