Mangoes are fruits of the summer. I still remember my childhood days when we would roam around our orchards with mango trees filled with Mangoes.

We would love to eat the raw mangoes with some salt but also waited patiently for some of them to ripen. The nice fragrance of ripened mangoes will fill the air and then start our festival with Mangoes.

There were no specific times to eat them. Right from the time we would wake up till we slept, it was mangoes galore. And one thing that we did not miss even then was Mango shakes. There were no refrigerators or, grinders then.

Yet we would get a glass of cool mango shake from milk stored in mud pitchers.

Nothing has changed except for the way we make it and the fact that we buy mangoes these days and hence there is a limit to just how much we can buy. πŸ™

Pro Tips:

Here are some pro tips for making mango milkshake:

Use Ripe Mangoes: It is essential to use ripe mangoes when making mango milkshake as they will provide the most flavor and sweetness. Look for mangoes that are fragrant, slightly soft to the touch, and have a yellow or orange hue.

Chill the Ingredients: For a creamier and thicker milkshake, it is recommended to chill the mangoes and milk before blending. This will help to thicken the milkshake and prevent it from becoming too runny.

Choose the Right Milk: Whole milk or full-fat milk will provide the creamiest and most flavorful milkshake. However, you can also use skim milk or non-dairy milk alternatives like almond milk or coconut milk for a lighter version.

Adjust Sweetness: Depending on the sweetness of the mangoes, you may need to adjust the amount of sugar or honey added to the milkshake. Start with a small amount and add more as needed to achieve the desired level of sweetness. You can even skip if the mangoes are sweet.

Add Ice Cream: For an even creamier and richer milkshake, you can add a scoop of vanilla ice cream or yogurt. This will also make the milkshake thicker and more satisfying.

Experiment with Spices: Spices like cardamom, cinnamon, or nutmeg can add an extra layer of flavor to the milkshake. Experiment with different spices to find the combination that suits your taste buds.

Garnish and Serve: To make the milkshake more visually appealing, you can garnish it with fresh mango slices, whipped cream, or a sprinkle of cinnamon. Serve the milkshake immediately to enjoy it at its best.

Basic Ingredients Used to Make this Recipe:

  1. Ripe Mangoes: Mangoes are the star ingredient in mango milkshake. They provide a sweet and tangy flavor as well as a bright orange color.
  2. Milk: Milk provides a creamy and smooth texture to the milkshake. Whole milk or full-fat milk will provide the creamiest and most flavorful milkshake, but you can also use skim milk or non-dairy milk alternatives for a lighter version.
  3. Sweeteners: Depending on the sweetness of the mangoes, you may need to add some sweeteners like sugar or honey to the milkshake.
  4. Ice cubes: Ice cubes can also be added to the mango milkshake if you prefer it to be colder and more refreshing. If you prefer a creamier and thicker milkshake, you can skip the ice cubes and use chilled mangoes and milk instead. It is important to note that adding too many ice cubes can water down the flavor of the milkshake, so it’s best to add them gradually and adjust according to your preference.
